Melvin would put lights around the window in the living room and across the eave in the front of the house. We always used colored lights, not the clear or white ones. We would buy the spray snow in a can and spray around the window panes to look like frost. I remember driving around and looking at everyone’s lights and I have loved Christmas lights ever since. I have never decorated the outside my house with lights though because I like to look at them and I can’t see them when I’m inside the house.

When I lived in (Turin) Torino, Italy, it was certainly the Città delle Luci (City of Lights) and it was amazingly beautiful at Christmas time. Another one I loved seeing was the Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, with thousands of lights it’s very beautiful. Anchorage, Alaska has its charm as well, with lots of lights everywhere, I’m sure it’s because the days are so very short in the winter time. Now that I have a digital camera, I especially enjoying taking pictures of the Christmas lights but its difficult since I’m kind of photographically challenged!
